Gymnasium Equipment
During your
rehabilitation, stretching and strengthening exercises are important.
We have a fully equipped gymnasium with a full spectrum of modern
and varied equipment that will permit you a complete muscular
training. We possess a Universal Weider gymnasium, stationary
bicycles, treadmill, free weights and proprioceptive material.

Ultrasound
(Click

Ultrasound is a high frequency sound generator that is applied
locally to injuries or areas of inflammation. Ultrasound waves
cause a micro-movement of tissues in their path and have the capacity
to increase circulation, clean out congested areas, and break
down soft tissue adhesions.
Interferential
(Click

Interferential is a high frequency electrical current that has
been designed to reach deep tissues, reduce swelling, decrease
pain, and significantly increase local circulation and oxygenation
of healing tissues.
Muscle
Stimulation

Muscle stimulation is used to electrically stimulate muscles which
have not been used and are atrophied. It can also retrain the
capacity of the central nervous system to recruit motor units
which have become lazy or dormant following surgery, injury, or
nerve damage.
TENS
(transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation)

Diminishes pain by electrically stimulating the skin with specific
pulse frequencies which have been shown to increase the flow of
natural hormones (endorphins, encephalins, dymorphins) and to
consequently reduce pain. This technique is used for chronic pain.
Iontophoresis

Iontophoresis is the process of delivering medication by means
of an electrical current rather than an injection. This procedure
is primarily used on shoulder tendonitis/bursitis, plantar faciitis,
and other chronic soft tissue disruptions. Iontophoresis can be
very successful in reducing dependency on medication for pain
relief.
LASER
(Click

LASER is a highly focused light source in the infra-red or near-infrared
range which is used to promote healing of soft tissues. Following
surgery, lacerations, or open wounds, this modality can ensure
a good quality tissue repair. In addition, this light source is
highly absorbed by nerves and can significantly decrease pain
of nerve origin.
Electromagnetic
Currents

Electromagnetic currents are used primarily to increase the circulation
and oxygenation of tissues. Soft tissue swelling can be reduced
dramatically and the healing process accelerated. These currents
have the capacity to penetrate all tissues without resistance,
thus making them an ideal choice of treatment for many joints
problems.
Cervical/Lumbar
Traction

Cervical/ Lumbar traction is a mechanical device used to distract
joints of the spine. This technique is used when disc problems
in the neck or back put pressure on nerves or when the joints
of the spine are inflamed and stiff. This technique can reduce
pain and increase mobility local to the area of application.
Direct
Currents (Diadynamic, LIDC)

Direct currents are electrical stimulators that have the capacity
to relieve pain and promote healing. These currents can be used
to heal bone fractures, open wounds, pressure sores, and ligament
and tendon structures.
