This was my 3rd time going to Landers Treatment and I thought this time since they had changed their program criteria and admission requirements, from the other times I was there, was awesome! The no smoking and no outside interference of laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc., helped immensely. The curriculum was more in depth and hit more to the roots of my issues. Great food and always on time. Also, all of the staff were amazing and so very kind. They never once judged me or made me feel like I wasn't worth the effort and hard work. The Rec staff, amazing as well. I still to this day, 1 year later of being clean and sober, do the morning routines with my 5 year old daughter. She loves them! Thank you guys! To all the staff at Landers keep up the great work! Thank you all so very much.

I was admitted on January 7th 2001 and stayed for 2 weeks. It saved my life and everything associated with it. I have now been sober for 17 years and tomorrow 7 months. One thing the treatment made me realize is that I cannot drink. It is just one of those things I cannot do. One of the other thing I cannot do is fly and I don't need to jump off a building to know that, I just know. It was a great program and the therapist (can't remember her name) was terrific. The place was full of people who wanted nothing but your success. One statistic I'm very proud of is that on April 9th 2016 I could say that I had been sober OVER (by 1 day) half my married life! I know that if I had not had this treatment and been successful I would be dead or worse. My name is Paddy and I'm a recovering alcoholic.

Level of Care:

Inpatient:

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatment Focus:

Substance Abuse:

Substance Abuse Treatment Centers focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Opiate Addiction:

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Alcoholism:

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Therapy Programs:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Individual Therapy:

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group Therapy:

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Life Skills:

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy:

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.
